What is a clamping kit used for?
Clamping kits are used to ensure the accuracy of your CMM. The most common use of a CMM is to provide detailed information to a CNC machine. A fixture plate with clamps ensures accurate measurements of the component for repeatable machining
What is clamping process?
The term "clamping" refers to the secure fastening of an already positioned workpiece in a clamping device for machining purposes. Locating and clamping may be viewed as a combined operation. Clamping is invariably associated with force transmission through the device.
What is the advantage of clamping?
First, hydraulic clamping reduces operator workload and load/unload times by automating the clamp/unclamp cycle. Second, since the clamping is automated clamping forces are more consistent part-to-part reducing workpiece non-conformities. Thirdly, hydraulic clamps allow for the automation of part loading/unloading.
Once workpiece is located, it is necessary to press it against locating surfaces and hold it there against the force acting upon it. The tool designer refers to this action as clamping and the mechanisms used for this action are known as clamps.
